Early End of the Year Reviewposted Dec 7th 2004, 3:36AM
Music: "It's About Time"-SWV
It's almost 2005 and to beat all those humor sites to the punch, here's my best and worst of 2004. Enjoy!
Wrestling (Good)
-Eugene: He's like the doofy, innocent little brother you just want to protect and then have him go mow your lawn afterwards. He's also contributed to some of the funniest moments of the year.
-Theodore Long as the GM of Smackdown: He's tough yet fair and wouldn't take shit from anyone without letting the power go to his head. I hope they keep him around for a long time.
Wrestling (Bad)
-The New Arab-American Heel: I know they're trying to appeal to the Neo-Cons and pro-war people, but I find a lot of his concerns very understandable. Since when is wanting to be treated fairly qualify you as a heel?
TV (Good)
-Megas XLR: One of the best original series to come out in a long time. It's funny as hell with a slashy slacker boy to boot.
TV (Bad)
-Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi: The moder day equivlent of Pink Lady and Jeff except it's animated and there's no hot tub scene at the end. Hopefuly the show will go off the air just as fast.
-Tom Goes to the Mayor: Finally a show that bores me to tears faster than Home Movies and Baby Blues.
Video Games (Good)
-Shin Megami Tensai: Nocture: I can't wait to play this game. I just love this series.
-Sims 2: It just blows everything the original did out the frick'n water. This game was just worth all the obsessing I did over it.
-Leisure Suit Larry: Mega Cum Lately: I don't give a shit what all the gaming magazine critics thought, they can go back to kissing the ass of the latest overrated Final Fantasy game for all I care. While it wasn't perfect, it was the damn funniest Larry game I've ever played.
-La Pucelle Tactics: One of the best RPGs I've played this year. My only gripe is that Crouix is a total rip-off of Wolfwood from Trigun.
Video Games (Bad)
-Final Fantasy X-2: Keep those bimbos comeing Squaresoft. Who cares if this game is a dumbed-down version of Charle's Angels with the skankiest outfits I have ever seen.
-Suikoden 3: This game was a major let down. Chris has to be the most boring and frigid RPG heroine ever and I just want to beat the shit out of that spoiled bitch Lilly. (Hugo was ok.) They should've just had the whole story be focused around Geddoe and keep Thomas as well.
-The Lack of Imagination in Today's RPGs: There was a time I use to become estatic over hearing about the latest RPG coming to America. Now it feels like it's the same damn characters and riped-off plots (just compare Baiten Katos and Skies of Arcadia's plots) over and over again. And don't give me that "they're using what works crap." For once I'd like to see a hero who isn't either silent, an angsty, selfish jerk; or an immature goody-goody. Or a heroine that isn't a pure, perfect, goody-goody; an ice queen, or acts like she's ten years younger than she is and is way too perky.
Others (Good)
-I Discover Jackie Chan Adventures Slash: It sure cheered me up.
